We are a local church that seeks to be in right standing with God, that He can use to show Himself to a lost and dying world. I pray that this will be a blessing to you and the first step of your becoming firmly fixed in the Almighty Kingdom above.

Rev. Dr. Nelson McAllister

In 1949, Bishop Robert Stewart, moved by God, established the Calvary Full Gospel Church, located on Smith Street in Newburgh. Rev David R. McAllister followed Bishop Stewart as Pastor in early 1950 's.

In 1955, The Reverend David Ralph McAllister became affiliated with the Pentecostal House of Prayer in New York City, under Bishop George J. Tate and was made Bishop of the Calvary Full Gospel Pentecostal House of Prayer. The Church location moved from Smith Street to Water Street -from there to Colden Street and then to the Old Dutch Reformed Church on Grand Street. Because of Urban Renewal, we again had to relocate, and moved to Lander Street. Through prayer and hard work, in 1974 God blessed us with this church building; of which we are very thankful. The name of thee church became Calvary Full Gospel Faith Center.

In March of 1980, Mother Maggie McAllister was installed as Pastor. She stepped down from that office in 1982, when Rev. Nelson McAllister was installed as Pastor.

"The Spirit of the Living God instructed me to train an army of believers who will go forth and exercise their rights and privileges given them by His Son Jesus Christ. Train people who fear God and not man, who study His Word and apply it in their everyday lives. A people who have a living working FAITH, who are confident in God's Word and who will be examples to the world.
The motivation is why we are carrying out the plan. The general motivation of Calvary Full gospel family church is LOVE. Everything we do is motivated out of the fact that God has called us, as Christians, to love one another. Our motivation is to:

As we move forward in this New Year remember that Faith in God is the foundation of our lives. Without a strong, sure foundation nothing will last. Hebrews 11:6 states without FAITH it is impossible to please God.
(MSNT) For I am not ashamed of the Good News. It is God’s power which is at work for the salvation of every one who believes—the Jew first, and then the Gentile. For in the Good News a righteousness which comes from God is being revealed, depending on faith and tending to produce faith; as the Scripture has it, “The righteous man shall live by faith.”
